Currently, 12 professors, 24 assistents and around 300 students are working at our department.
In addition to the classical study Mathematics for Diploma and different possibilities for teacher study in Mathematics and Computer Science we offer since 1998 the study Biomathematics for Diploma unique in Germany. We also have a new study for Bachelor of Mathematics with Computer Science. Furthermore around 3000 students of different faculties are taught Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science as a subsidiary subject.
In research, emphasis is on Mathematical Physics (Quantum stochastics, Differential operators on Manifolds). Other Research topics are Fractals and Time Series Analysis, Theory of Computability and Complexity and Optimal Control.
